
OBJECTIVES
- Mobilization of African artists on the campaign message "I
love You Positive or Negative" fighting HIV & AIDS related
stigmas and discriminations.
- Organization of local exhibitions gathering these artworks, starting
with Mozambique and South Africa.
DESCRIPTION
After involving 30 renowned international artists in a prestigious exhibition
(Read "Artists4life" action),
Designing Hope develops similar concepts in Southern african countries,
with local artists:
More than 30 Mozambican and 10 South African artists have already contributed
to this project by creating an artwork on the campaign message.
An exhibition will be organised at the Franco-mozambican centre in Maputo
and at the Alliance Française in Johannesburg for the World Aids
Day, the 1st of December 2006.

DEVELOPMENTS
Designing Hope aims at developping similar events, mobilizing more artists
in other african countries, and organizing a tour for an exhibition of
these atworks in other african cities.
By involving local artists from several countries on their perception
of HIV & AIDS related stigma, Designing Hope will enrich its library
of visuals to create more appropriate and accurate awareness tools. Posters,
Condom packs, leaflets will be personalized, with texts translated in
local languages.

BUDGET
- Packing, transport and insurance of artworks for cross exhibitions
(Joburg - Maputo, Maputo - Joburg, and new cities to be involved)
- Expenses for the exhibitions: invitations, mailing, cocktails...
- International coordination: (return tickets & accomodation)
- Scholarships for artists (Optional)
