OBJECTIVES
Creation of a consortium of international companies willing to support
Designing Hope's campaign.
The consortium is welcoming especially companies having branches in Africa
who can both:
- support a wide campaign of prevention and sensitization
to HIV related stigmas
- and directly benefit from this partnership by
implementing the campaign within their premises for their own employes.
AIDS
AND BUSINESS IN AFRICA
HIV/AIDS is a growing issue for companies implemented in highly
affected regions, such as Africa.
Leave days due to opportunistic diseases, funerals of relatives, psychological
weaknesses, loss of motivation...
Daily, the virus affects employees of companies, and therefore, their
business activity and profitability.
On the other hand, many employees are too afraid to loose their position
when disclosing their status and are tempted to hide any sign of weakness
in order not to raise any suspicion, which worsens their health.
APPROACH
Designing Hope wants to support these compagnies and also smaller structures,
focusing on HIV/AIDS related stigmas
in professional environments, which is the key of succes for implementing
any HIV/AIDS campaign.
Designing Hope believes that the strenght and simplicity of the campaign
message :"I love you Positive or Negative" can help break the
stigma, bring trust and confidence between colleagues and among the staff.
CONCEPT
The idea consist in creating a consortium
of at least 10 companies, caring about a common ethic
towards their employees and HIV related problems and willing to support
this campaign and to implement it for their staff.
Their sponsorship will cover the expenses of the diffusion of 4 main actions
of the campaign:
