Designing Hope and Dessine l'Espoir have been growing actors since 2003
in Europe and Africa to support people affected by HIV AIDS and fight
HIV & AIDS related stigmas and discrimination.
Thanks to a permanent link between community actions and sensitization
programs in Europe and in Africa, both structures have been constantly
adapting messages and actions to develop efficient concepts benefiting
small groups of people in micro projects as well as millions of individuals
through national campaigns.
In Europe
Dessine l'Espoir strengthened its actions in Europe by multiplying its
presence on international venues and events like the Women's Forum, Art
Paris and Maison
& Objet international fairs... ,
by cooperating with international institutions such as UNESCO, and by
organising annual events, in particular for World Aids Day, with support
of many well-known personalities.

ONE MONTH OF LOVE
In September 2006, Dessine l'Espoir launches "One
Month Of Love" at Maison&Objet
international fair. This useful and playful booklet is an original display
for an exhibition catalogue, including artworks from contemporary artists
supporting the "I Love You Positive or Negative" campaign, printed
on 24 cases containing one condom. Some messages supporting the campaign
are also printed on these boxes.
This booklet is an original way of promoting condoms in European countries
where use of condoms is facing a dangerous decrease. A donation of 4 Euros
attached to each booklet sold will contribute to free distribution in
Africa of condoms packed in a similar way.
In
Africa
Dessine l'Espoir started its projects in Southern
Africa, on of the most affected region of the african continent.
The NGO started first helping local associations with the funds raised
through events held in Europe. Dessine l'Espoir financed several specific
projects of medical care, nutritional et psychological support supporting
people affected by HIV and AIDS,
as well as awareness programs :

- Welness Clinic",
psychological and nutritional support for women under ARV of Monkeybiz
NGO.
-"Know your Body,

In 2005, Dessine
l'Espoir creates “Designing Hope Africa” an african sister
structure registered in South Africa, in order to ensure the development
of its projects, with a better control over daily management.
This
local structure brings secured supervision of the funds allocation, and
enables small daily expenses for the running of local projects, which
would be impossible to organise from France.
Swaziland also benefited a lot from this consolidated local presence,
with the community support project of Malanda,
and a daily nutritional program for 2000 patients under ARV at Piggs
Peak Hospital.
Food
distribution started with sadnwiches and supplies now warm balanced meals.
The local Swazi and
South African permanents employees of Designing Hope became
also actors of the campaign fighting HIV and AIDS related stigmas:"
I Love You Positive or Negative".
Creative workshops have been gathering and mobilizing hundreds of women
in embroidery workshops. This activity
brings them recognition, some income, and an opportunity to express their
experience of stigma affecting themseleves or their family members affected
by HIV and AIDS.

The campaign reached
in 2006 a international scale and will address in September 2006 millions
of South Africans, with a strong television

Short 30 seconds clips broadcasting 20 South African "Messangers"
from various backgrouds (singers, actors, sportsmen, TV presenters...)
and giving their personal approach of the campaign message “I Love
You Positive or Negative", will be displayed for one month between
the programs of these two channels.

Messagers supporting the campaign:
TV
presenters Ruda Landman, Nnekwa Tsaija and Vanessa Jansen, fashion designer
Kensani Maganyi, singers Zola, Kabelo, Dozi, Mandoza, Gloria Bosman, Nathaniel,
Adri Kotze, Judith Sephuma, Lize Beekman, Johnny Clegg, and Zama Jobe,

Egan Seconds, Zahier Rlands, swimmer Nathalie Du Toit, actors Goliath

This campaign will be linked to a communication and sensitization campaign
at community scales, with various tools and approaches (flyers, leaflets
and free condoms packed in attractive
cases printed with visuals and messages taken from the “I Love You
Positive or Negative” campaign, with signatures of African icones
supporting the campaign.)
