Human Ruban at Jules Verne's French School - Johannesburg

Designing Hope organized a a very symbolic event on World Aids Day in collaboration with the Lycee Jules Verne, Johannesburg's French School. Dessine l’Espoir financed the supply and embroidery of 120 T-shirts carrying Johnny Clegg’s message “I Love You Positive or Negative” and it’s Zulu personalisation “Nothing can beat love”.


600 student gathered on the sports ground, forming an aids ruban, 120 of whom were carrying Johnny Clegg’s T-shirts, all at once stood up and formed an heart next to the ruban, symbolizing the percentage of South African population affected by HIV/AIDS. T-shirt were then offered to chidren of Orange Farm orphanage in Johannesburg.
